Visiting Destinations Sprinkled with Magic!
Cannon Beach, just 90-minutes from Portland, is a true jewel of the Pacific Northwest. This perfect little coastal town is home to one of nature's gems - Haystack Rock. We'll see jaw-dropping views from atop Ecola State Park, and travel the Columbia River Gorge with waterfall after waterfall at every turn. This tour package includes 2-nights in Portland & 3-nights in Cannon Beach. Our 5-night fully-escorted vacation package is a Magical Pacific Northwest Experience.
Food trucks, coffee shops, urban gardening, bike lovers - Portland is practically a laboratory of all that's hip and cool in North America. Soak up Portland's vibe with a visit to a few of their incredible restaurants, and walk their charming neighborhoods. We'll stay in a historic elementary school turned unique hotel where the 57 classrooms-turned-guestrooms (complete with original chalkboards) is a beloved gem of its Northeast Portland Alberta Arts District neighborhood.
Get your cameras out folks as we head 30 miles outside of Portland to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It's as though you've entered into another world, with breathtaking vistas, hidden trails, abundant waterfalls and so many shades of green you never knew existed. We'll travel along the Historic Columbia River Highway where we'll stop to see several of Oregon's magical waterfalls and visit Multnomah Falls, the largest waterfall in Oregon and second largest in the nation.
Sitting at the base of Mt. Hood lies the Hood River Fruit Loop, a cornucopia of fruit orchards, vineyards, and breweries. We'll be rewarded with sweeping landscapes, gorgeous mountain views, and lush fertile farmland.
We'll have lunch at a 4th-generation family-owned and operated farm featuring u-pick fruit and flowers, with their own wines, craft beers, and farm fresh cuisine.
Then onward to explore a winery that proudly boasts exquisite views of Mt. Hood. Five generations of fruit growers on a century-old farm with delicious local wine and a patio viewing area with picturesque mountain views that can be seen from almost anywhere on the property.
Oregon’s 363-miles of coastline offers plenty of contenders for the best Pacific Northwest beach - and Cannon Beach tops the list for its sheer beauty.
Known for its famous Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach is located along Oregon's northern coast, this breathtaking seaside favorite, is a quintessential cozy beach town that comes with rocky vistas, mile-upon-mile of beaches, artistic enclaves, abundant seafood and, yes, even surfing.
As we explore this quaint seaside village, which will be our home for 3-nights, you will experience first-hand why Cannon Beach is the Pacific Northwest jewel.
Our time in Cannon Beach is not complete until you experience the gorgeous Pacific Northwest sunsets. Gather around a nightly beach campfire as we experience a wonderful ending to our Magical day and as we say good-night to the golden sun as it sets into the Pacific Ocean.
In 1806, Lewis & Clark and twelve members of the Corps of Discovery climbed over rocky headlands and fought their way through thick shrubs and trees to get to what is now Ecola State Park. Perched dramatically on the edge of Tillamook Head we'll wind through an old growth rain forest before emerging at one of the Oregon Coast’s most breathtaking ocean views overlooking stunning rock formations and miles and miles of surf and sand.
Paved walking trails provide vantage points for panoramic views including the historic Tillamook Rock Lighthouse lying just offshore on a lone rock in the Pacific. A short drive to the other side of the park leads to picturesque Indian Beach, a popular location for surfers. Ecola State Park offers miles of hiking trails, picnic areas and great vantage points for bird and whale watchers. Look for herds of Roosevelt Elk grazing in meadows and Bald Eagles flying overhead. Ecola State Park is a hiking and sightseeing mecca with quite the historic past.
Many colorful and strange creatures live where Cannon Beach’s rocky shorelines and beaches meet the sea. As the tide recedes, a unique and diverse environment is revealed in intertidal areas and tide pools. Bright sea stars in a variety of colors cling tightly to rocks. Green anemones lay open like flowers at the bottom of pools. Look carefully and you may find varieties of crabs, fish, snails, limpets, coral, sponge and colorful sea slugs. These are just a few of the coastal marine creatures that you may discover in the tide pools of Cannon Beach.
